Why do you charge for a design consultation when other studios do it free?

Because a free design appointment is a sales appointment. Ours takes 90 minutes, produces a drawing and a written price range, and the £750 comes off your kitchen if you order one. If you do not, you keep the drawings and can take them anywhere.

How much is a Marlbeck kitchen?

Most land between £18,000 and £35,000 fitted, including VAT. The full breakdown is on our prices page, including what is and is not included.

What does "in-frame" actually mean?

Accepted Answer

The doors sit inside a solid timber frame rather than covering the front of the box, the way a good piece of furniture is made. It takes more timber and more time, and it is the reason a well-made kitchen still shuts properly in twenty years.

How long does it take?

Ten to twelve weeks from signing off the drawings to the first day of fitting, then eight to twelve working days on site.

Do you fit it yourselves?

Yes. Our own joiners, and one of them leads your job from the first day to the last.

Do you work outside Harrogate?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Wetherby, Ilkley, Boston Spa, north Leeds and the Vale of York regularly. Further than that, ask us.

Can I just have the cabinets?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cabinetry supplied without worktops or appliances starts at £12,000. Plenty of people use their own builder.

What if I change my mind halfway through?

Accepted Answer

Before we start making, you can change anything and we re-price it. Once the timber is cut, changes cost money and we will tell you exactly how much before we do them.

Do you take the old kitchen out?

Only if you ask us to. It is not in the price by default because a lot of people have a builder doing it as part of a bigger job.
